‘I am a pooduct of society and we have to be popolar!’
‘I have created my own kingdom in my paintings and installations. I hold the power in my hands. I wear a blazer with large shoulder pads to appear powerful. These are all instruments of power used to escape from the obedient, submissive girl that is unable to create her own reality, but lives in the fictitious one of the world.
As a boss, I place my cast wherever I want them and they do what I command. So I create images of strong individuals who have been castrated, stripped of their power, and ashamed by using kitsch, glitter, and puppies.
I question authority. I am the boss of my paintings, but I also play the role of Empress with an ironic exaggeration, to show how weird, strange, and absurd it is to obey a person, system, or authority.’
